SAMSUNG PM9C1a High-Performance PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD Product Introduction
The SAMSUNG PM9C1a is a high-performance PCIe 4.0 NVMe solid-state drive. Featuring versatile form factor options, exceptional read and write performance, and optimized energy efficiency, it is fully compatible with desktops, laptops and other terminal devices, effectively enhancing system performance for gaming, computing and other intensive workloads.
In terms of form factor and capacity configuration, the PM9C1a series SSD adopts a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and supports mainstream M.2 specifications including 2280, 2242 and 2230, adapting to the installation requirements of various terminal devices. It is available in three storage capacities: 256GB, 512GB and 1TB, covering diverse storage upgrade demands for daily office work, gaming entertainment and professional computing scenarios.

Delivering industry-leading read and write capabilities, the SAMSUNG PM9C1a achieves outstanding benchmark performance. It offers a maximum sequential read speed of 6000 MB/s and a maximum sequential write speed of 5600 MB/s. Its random performance reaches up to 900K IOPS for random reads and 1M IOPS for random writes. Such high-speed performance significantly reduces latency during file loading, program response and game startup.
Powered by SAMSUNG’s self-developed 5nm process controller and 7th-generation V-NAND flash memory technology, the PM9C1a features an advanced hardware architecture that sustains stable high performance and boosts overall gaming and computing capabilities. Compared with the previous-generation PM9B1 SSD, the sequential read speed is 1.6 times higher and the sequential write speed is 1.8 times higher.
Energy efficiency is a core advantage of the PM9C1a. It achieves a 70% improvement in overall energy efficiency over the PM9B1, enabling the drive to process equivalent workloads with lower power consumption. Optimized for mobile laptops, the SSD reduces power consumption by approximately 10% in standby mode, effectively extending battery life and balancing extreme performance and power efficiency.
For data security protection, the PM9C1a supports the Device Identity Composition Engine (DICE) security standard developed by the Trusted Computing Group (TCG). It can generate encryption keys locally within the SSD hardware and implement device identity authentication. This mechanism prevents targeted attacks exploiting supplier network vulnerabilities and verifies firmware integrity to avoid unauthorized parameter tampering, providing comprehensive protection for device operation and user data security.
